Chelsea Football Club have settled on a club-record £117 million deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Middlesbrough will hold 20% of any future profit from the sale.
The transfer has raised concerns over its impact on playing time for Enzo Fernández. Rogers’ move follows Chelsea’s summer spending push under new ownership. The club is also keeping tabs on Maxence Lacroix, Jonathan Rowe, Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho.
Other clubs tracking reinforcements include Arsenal, which is looking at free-agent John Stones after William Saliba’s World Cup injury sparked a reshuffle in the defence staff.
