Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh told U.S. House lawmakers on July 14, 2026 that the central bank won’t allow inflation to stay elevated. He reaffirmed the Fed’s goal of keeping prices rising at about 2% a year during a live hearing . Warsh said the bank can and will act strongly if needed to hold prices down . He gave no hints about future adjustments later.
