Nine crew members from China have been arrested for illegal fishing in waters near Yeonpyeong Island.

Maritime patrol teams were given formal recognition for their work. They had forced out illegal Chinese crab boats in the area.

On a separate matter, a prawn fisher from West Vancouver was fined $5,000. The fine was imposed because he dropped traps near glass sponge reefs.

Authorities say there will be no fishing for coho salmon in Lake Washington. The closure will affect anglers in that lake.

The Wuchang fish industry is branching out too.
