CenterPoint Energy acknowledged that customers' personal details was exposed in a data breach. Class action suits were filed over the incident. The company noted services remain operational and that personal customer data was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI told Springfield officials that a school cyber attack included a data breach that could have revealed Social Security numbers. Records of students and staff were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local authorities.
