Dignitaries and the Bodega Cuatro Rayas team celebrated the inauguration of the winery’s new facilities, marking a milestone in Verdejo winemaking. The 2025 harvest had already initiated their operational debut, with grapes processed for the next series of wines.
Following the busy harvest, the official opening took place on 3 November, welcoming special guests and officials. Present at the ceremony were Spain’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, and María González Corral, the Regional Minister of Agriculture for Castilla y León.
“This coincidence perfectly reflects our essence,” said Ignacio Martín Obregón, president of Bodega Cuatro Rayas.
During the event, Minister Planas commended the winery’s dedication to quality, innovation, and equality in the workplace. González Corral underscored the significance of cooperatives like Cuatro Rayas in strengthening the local economy and community resilience.
Recognized for its innovation with Verdejo and its loyalty to DO Rueda, the cooperative plays a vital role beyond winemaking. Its members cultivate roughly 2,600 hectares of vineyards, contributing to both the region’s agricultural sustainability and its social fabric.
For President Obregón, launching these new facilities in the same year as the winery’s 90th anniversary symbolizes the harmony between tradition and forward-looking innovation at Bodega Cuatro Rayas.
The new Bodega Cuatro Rayas winery embodies a union of tradition and innovation, enriching the local economy while reinforcing the region’s Verdejo wine heritage.
