During a press conference at the White House, Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay collapsed unexpectedly while standing behind President Donald Trump. The event was focused on announcing a new deal for weight-loss medications.
Findlay's knees suddenly gave way, and several administration officials and pharmaceutical representatives quickly assisted to prevent him from falling to the floor.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the incident occurred during the "Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement."
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly.”
Leavitt assured that on-site medics responded immediately and the individual was fine afterward.
Reporters noted that Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, helped Findlay safely reach the ground to prevent injury. Afterwards, cabinet members attended to him, elevating his legs as reporters were asked to leave the Oval Office.
The press conference resumed shortly after the incident.
