The Las Vegas Raiders suffered another setback Thursday night in a 10–7 loss to the Denver Broncos, marking one of their toughest nights of the season. Quarterback Geno Smith left the game injured, deepening the team’s ongoing struggles.
Smith completed the night with 143 passing yards and an interception before suffering a right knee injury on the first play of the fourth quarter. He was hurt while trying to scramble past Denver linebacker Nik Bonitto, who reached for Smith’s knee. After a few unsteady steps, Smith fell and was landed on by Malcolm Roach.
“Geno was deemed questionable to return with a left quad issue,” said coach Pete Carroll.
Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett briefly replaced Smith before Smith returned and then left again due to lingering pain.
The Raiders’ injury troubles extended beyond Smith. Guards Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson both exited the game with ankle injuries, with Powers-Johnson expected to miss additional time.
Las Vegas managed only 188 total yards, continuing a trend of offensive inefficiency that has dropped the team to a 2–7 record.
“We have to fight through these injuries and find a way to compete,” Carroll noted afterward.
Despite moments of resilience, the loss underscored how far the Raiders are from regaining consistency.
