The Las Vegas Raiders faced another setback when quarterback Geno Smith suffered an injury during their 10-7 loss to the Denver Broncos on Thursday, November 5.
Smith finished the game with 143 passing yards and one interception. His injury occurred on the first play of the fourth quarter while trying to evade Denver's Nik Bonitto. Although Smith remained on his feet briefly, he eventually fell after a tackle by Malcolm Roach.
He was briefly replaced by Kenny Pickett before returning to the game, though he was soon deemed questionable to return with a left quad issue.
The Raiders' offense struggled throughout the game, managing only 188 total yards. This performance contributed to their disappointing 2-7 record for the season.
Despite a modest offensive output of 220 yards, the Broncos secured the win thanks largely to a critical second-half field goal by Will Lutz.
"Will Lutz's clutch second-half field goal proved enough to seal the win."
The Raiders’ offensive woes compounded by Geno Smith’s leg injury highlight significant challenges as they fall behind in the season.
