‘Stranger Things’ creators address bullying claims after Millie Bobby Brown allegations

Addressing Bullying Claims in 'Stranger Things'

Creators of 'Stranger Things', Matt and Ross Duffer, responded to recent allegations of bullying and harassment involving cast members Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.

At the show's premiere, while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Ross Duffer emphasized the importance of a safe and supportive environment on set. He stated:

“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

Director and executive producer Shawn Levy also commented on how the production team handles bullying complaints:

“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”

Levy added that he has read various accounts, noting:

“I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it.”

Author's summary: The 'Stranger Things' creators defend their set environment, emphasizing safety and respect while addressing bullying claims, and highlight their dedication to a positive workplace.
