Swedish theatrical Groove Metal masters Avatar release their tenth album, Don't Go In The Forest, marking a new creative peak. This is their second album under their own label, Black Waltz Records, following the acclaimed Dance Devil Dance.
The album’s title may reference the forest outside frontman Johannes Eckerström’s family property, famously featured during the recording of Dance Devil Dance and in the documentary The Band Avatar Makes A Killer Album.
Don't Go In The Forest continues to blend Groove Metal with unique elements like pirate vibes, strings, and synths, creating a fascinating sonic journey. The album showcases a broad instrumental palette including choirs, brass, Moogs, pianos, cellos, and violas, making it Avatar's most musically ambitious work so far.
"If, like me, you loved Dance Devil Dance, then Don’t Go In The Forest will blow your socks off."
The album was strategically released on Halloween, amplifying its dramatic impact and thematic resonance.
Don't Go In The Forest proves Avatar’s growth, combining theatrical flair with diverse instrumentation for a captivating and adventurous metal experience.
Author’s note: This album elevates Avatar’s creativity and musicianship to new heights, delivering a fresh and thrilling sound that engages longtime fans and newcomers alike.
