A 19-year-old pregnant woman, Jaylah Donald, was killed in a crash in Newton County, Georgia, over the Thanksgiving weekend. Neither she nor her unborn baby boy survived the collision with a suspected DUI driver.
Jaylah was a passenger in a car that was backing improperly out of a driveway when another vehicle struck the passenger side. Investigators say the other driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
Jaylah’s family described her as a sweet, joyful, and caring young woman who was deeply loved. They said she had so much life ahead of her and that both she and her baby deserved a real chance at life.
“She deserved more time. Her baby deserved a chance at life. Our hearts will forever ache for the future that was stolen from them.”
Loved ones recall that she was excited to welcome her first child and start a new chapter in her life. They are now mourning not only her loss but also the loss of her unborn son.
