The Teddy Bear Island Clinic, a fun event designed to help young children feel more at ease with medical settings, procedures, and health care professionals, will take place this Sunday at Micronesia Mall.
Hosted for the third time by Guam Community College's Allied Health Program, the clinic offers a hands-on experience where children can play the role of doctors caring for their teddy bear patients.
The event combines health literacy with playful learning, allowing children to move through different "check-up" stations that simulate a doctor's visit.
"The 3rd Teddy Bear Island Clinic is a fun and educational day that provides children hands-on experience, combining health literacy with playful learning. It is also an opportunity to inspire future health care professionals and help ease the fears that children may have with medical professionals," GCC said.
This initiative helps reduce children's anxiety about medical visits while inspiring interest in health care careers.
