The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is offering free transportation to voters heading to polling stations for local elections on Tuesday.
Riders simply need to inform their CARTA driver that they are traveling to or from their polling location to receive the free trip.
“Turning out at the polls on Election Day is among our most critical civic duties, and we’re glad to play a small role in helping folks get there,” said Mike Seekings, Chair of the CARTA Board of Directors. “I encourage folks to get out and vote on Tuesday, and to use CARTA to get there, free of charge.”
Additional resources and system maps are available for voters to find their polling locations and plan their trips with CARTA.
Summary: CARTA supports voter turnout by offering complimentary rides to polling stations during local elections, easing access to voting locations for the Charleston community.
