ALMATY — Kazakhstan reported a strong agricultural season in 2025, harvesting 27.1 million tons of grain despite a decrease in wheat planting areas, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov announced at a government meeting in November. The Prime Minister’s press service confirmed steady growth across the sector.
“This year has been record-breaking not only for grain, but also for high-yield and high-demand crops such as legumes and oilseeds, which became the focus of diversification efforts,” said Saparov.
Grain harvesting across Kazakhstan concluded successfully. From 16 million hectares, farmers gathered 27.1 million tons, averaging 17 centners per hectare. Wheat production reached 20.3 million tons from 12.2 million hectares — half a million tons more than in 2024, despite reducing wheat acreage by 900,000 hectares to support crop diversification.
Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector shows promising diversification and technological advancement leading to record outputs in various crops.
