Ukrainian forces successfully neutralized a Russian reconnaissance group in the Donetsk region, capturing weapons and thwarting enemy operations.
On the Donetsk front, operators from the 8th Separate Special Purpose Brigade of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, named after Prince Iziaslav Mstyslavych, identified and destroyed a Russian sabotage-reconnaissance group. The brigade shared an update on the operation on Facebook in November, accompanied by a video of the engagement.
“A Special Operations Forces group ‘unraveled’ Russian servicemen! During a special operation, operators of the 8th Special Operations Forces Brigade discovered and destroyed an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group,” the brigade stated.
As a result of the operation, three Russian servicemen were eliminated. Ukrainian forces also captured Russian weapons, communication devices, and other documentation from the group.
In a separate engagement near Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces eliminated a Russian military intelligence unit. The unit, part of a second-echelon force, was moving behind diversionary teams to secure the advance of frontline Russian troops. Ukrainian forces detected the unit's movements and launched a strike before it could complete its mission.
The Ukrainian military's continued operations on the Donetsk front demonstrate effective countermeasures against Russian reconnaissance and sabotage units, significantly disrupting enemy plans.
