The Christmas Pageant marks the beginning of the festive season tomorrow morning, bringing excitement and large crowds to the city. Road users are advised to plan their trips carefully due to several closures across the CBD.
Many major roads will be closed from early morning until the afternoon as over 300,000 spectators are expected to line the streets for the annual event. A complete list of closures is available on the Christmas Pageant website.
This year, the Pageant will follow its usual path, starting at South Terrace and proceeding onto King William Street. It will then continue along the western edge of Tarntanyangga, pass through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, North Terrace, and conclude at Beehive Corner.
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure.
Mr. Mountain also warned,
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Attendees and road users are encouraged to plan ahead to ensure a smooth and safe experience during the festivities.
Author's summary: Road closures will affect key CBD streets during the Christmas Pageant tomorrow, so plan ahead, consider parking alternatives, and allow extra travel time to avoid disruptions.
