Adelaide Metro is providing free train, tram, and bus services on Saturday, November 8, to support travel to and from the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, the largest public street parade in the Southern Hemisphere.
Free public transport will be available from 6am to 2pm, helping families secure a spot behind the Blue Honour Line before Father Christmas arrives. Additional buses and trains will run on the day, including extra services for substitute buses covering the partially closed Glenelg tram line.
Some bus stops in the CBD will be temporarily closed, with transports aiming to drop passengers as close as possible to the parade route. Road closures will also be enforced city-wide to ensure safety during the event.
"Hundreds of thousands are expected to travel to Adelaide for the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant."
The free transport services aim to accommodate the large crowds and provide an easier, safer way to enjoy the pageant festivities.
