Idris Elba Returns for New "Luther" Sequel on Netflix
Idris Elba will reprise his role as the brilliant detective John Luther in a new "Luther" film sequel on Netflix, according to TheWrap. He will be joined by Ruth Wilson and Dermot Crowley in the cast.

Jamie Payne, a veteran director of the series and the first film, Luther: The Fallen Sun, will direct the sequel. The script is written by series creator and screenwriter Neil Cross.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the story follows a wave of brutal, seemingly random murders hitting London. Luther is secretly called back into service, but faces the challenge of saving the city when many want him dead.
“Neil has yet again, created a wonderfully dark tale to bring us all back together,” said director Jamie Payne. “It’s a true joy to be back on the streets of Lutherland with the supreme talents that are Idris Elba and Dermot Crowley. I am also thrilled to be reunited with the brilliant and dangerous Alice Morgan played by the extraordinarily talented Ruth Wilson.”
