Only six couples remain in season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars,” as the competition narrows ahead of the semifinals. The show bid farewell to comedian Andy Richter and his professional partner Emma Slater, who were voted off during the Tuesday, November 11 episode.
Despite having less dance experience than most of his quarterfinal peers, Richter showed steady improvement each week. His loyal fans, affectionately called the Fandys, supported him passionately despite lower scores from the judges.
“I never thought I’d get this far,” Richter told Good Morning America. “I never thought that this would mean this much. Before it started, I thought I was gonna hate it. It’s become one of the things I’ve loved most.”
Before leaving, Richter delivered one of his strongest performances of the season. In the relay dance challenge, celebrity contestants were paired with former champions while the pros watched from the sidelines. Richter teamed up with season 29 winner Kaitlyn Bristowe for a spirited Viennese waltz that delighted both audience and judges.
During the number, Bristowe playfully ripped open Richter’s shirt to reveal a comical T-shirt printed with sculpted abs, sending the crowd into laughter. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised the moment, remarking that Richter was “sexy tonight.”
Comedian Andy Richter departed “Dancing With the Stars” after a fan-adored run, leaving the show grateful for the journey and his supporters.
