Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Join Broadway Revival of Proof

Emmy and SAG Award winner Samira Wiley will make her Broadway debut this spring as Claire in the revival of Proof, David Auburn’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Thomas Kail.

Grammy nominee Jin Ha returns to the Broadway stage as Hal. They join previously announced stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle in the cast at the Booth Theatre, with performances beginning March 31, 2026.

Samira Wiley’s Theatre Career

A Juilliard graduate, Wiley recently appeared in London at the Donmar Warehouse in Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel. Earlier, she performed in the National Theatre’s production of Blues for an Alabama Sky. Off-Broadway, she starred in the 2016 production of Daphne’s Dive at the Signature Theatre.

Wiley is known for her role as Poussey Washington on Netflix’s groundbreaking series Orange Is the New Black. She recently finished filming the final season of Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, winning the 2018 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama and earning three additional nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Jin Ha’s Broadway and TV Highlights

Ha made his Broadway debut in 2017 in Julie Taymor’s production of David Henry Hwang’s M. The next year, he played Annas in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, sharing a Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

“Proof” is David Auburn’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail.
