Carmelo Anthony recently shared advice that could elevate Cade Cunningham’s game to superstar status. Despite growing quietly into one of the NBA’s most exciting young talents, Cunningham still holds untapped potential.
Anthony recognizes Cunningham as an incredible player but notes that since being the No. 1 pick in the 2021 Draft, his growth has mainly been in one area:
“His feel,” Anthony stated on his podcast 7PM in Brooklyn. “Like, the feel for the game, his flow of the game.”
Anthony emphasized the importance of Cunningham embracing the role of team leader:
“I think what we’re seeing with Cade, he’s starting to understand that he’s wearing the white hat and he’s running that organ. So, with that comes confidence. With that comes responsibility, too.”
This means Cunningham is beginning to fully take ownership of running the Detroit Pistons, showing growth in leadership and accountability.
Cunningham has notably developed into one of the league’s top passers, reflecting his improved feel and influence on the court.
Carmelo Anthony believes Cade Cunningham’s growing leadership and feel for the game are crucial steps toward unlocking his superstar potential with the Pistons.
