Jordan Staal set a new record for the most games played as a Carolina Hurricane, appearing in his 910th game and surpassing his brother Eric Staal. During Thursday night’s NHL game against the Minnesota Wild in Raleigh, N.C., Staal engaged in a rare fight, which caused him to miss a significant portion of the game.
The Hurricanes won the match 4-3, making the night a memorable and rewarding one for Staal and the team.

At age 37, Staal ranks third in franchise history for games played, including the team's history as the Hartford Whalers. He trails only Ron Francis (1,186 games) and Glen Wesley (913 games). Before joining the Hurricanes, Staal spent his first six NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
