Kazakhstan continues its movement toward a digital and interconnected trade system, highlighted by the results of the CART.IS (Cross-border Assessment of Readiness for Trade Information Systems) analysis presented in Astana.
The event united representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Integration, QazTrade JSC, several government bodies, and key partners involved in the CART.IS project, along with the European Union (EU) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).
Discussions centered on accelerating the digital transformation of trade processes and identifying further actions to reinforce interagency and cross-border collaboration. The analysis confirmed that while Kazakhstan has made notable progress, challenges remain in achieving full integration.
“Further simplification of trade procedures requires not only digitalisation, but also ensuring architectural compatibility between government agency systems.”
With EU and ITC support, Kazakhstan is taking structured steps to advance digital trade readiness and promote harmonized system integration across its trade network.
Author’s summary: Kazakhstan strengthens digital trade integration through collaboration with the EU and ITC, focusing on interoperability and system connectivity improvements.
