The Belleville Senators concluded their three-game weekend by hosting the Laval Rocket, ultimately falling 3-2. Hunter Shepard made an impressive 43 saves in the game.
Laval took an early lead by firing 23 shots on goal in the first period. Nate Clurman assisted on an Alex Belzile shot that was deflected to Filip Mesar, who scored his second goal of the season, putting Laval up 1-0.
Shortly after their power play ended, the Senators tied the game. Jake Chiasson’s patience opened space for Lassi Thomson, who scored a one-timer beating Laval goalie Kaapo Kähkönen to make it 1-1.
