Rookie Beckett Sennecke had his first two-goal game, while Leo Carlsson scored two power-play goals in a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
ANAHEIM — Despite the government shutdown ending, the Jets remained grounded Sunday night at Honda Center as the Ducks soared to maintain their status as the NHL’s hottest team with a 4-1 win over Winnipeg. The Ducks have now won seven consecutive games, their longest streak since the 2021-22 season when they won eight in a row. They have triumphed in nine of their last ten matches.
“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.
The Ducks will next face the Colorado Avalanche in Denver, a meeting of the NHL’s two best teams by points percentage.
“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew that our schedule had a bunch of tough teams in a row here, and I think we’re proving why we’re an established team,” Sennecke said.
Leo Carlsson is now tied for second place in league points with Chicago’s Connor Bedard, who was the only player drafted ahead of him in 2023. Both trail behind Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.
Summary: The Anaheim Ducks extend their impressive winning streak to seven games, led by standout performances from rookie Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson, solidifying their status as one of the NHL’s top teams.
