A McDonald's branch located on a busy road in Cambridge aims to extend its opening hours, having been denied twice before.
Currently, the restaurant is open from 7am to 11pm every day. The new application by Savills on behalf of McDonald's requests opening from 6am to 11pm, adding an extra hour in the morning.
In a cover letter, Savills stated that the extension is “not considered to result in any unacceptable impact” on nearby residents.
“For example, Papa John’s is open until 3am each day of the week. This application simply seeks to extend the trading hours by an additional hour from that which is currently approved.”
“We therefore anticipate that the proposal is entirely acceptable in terms of the extra hour of operation in the early morning trading period as no complaints have been received.”
The branch provides special offers, promotions, and adverts to the local community and its partners.
Summary: McDonald's Cambridge location seeks approval to open one hour earlier, citing no resident complaints and economic benefits from increased early-morning trade.
