Embark Studios' premium multiplayer extraction shooter ARC Raiders continues to grow beyond expectations. After a strong debut, the game has defied the usual trend by attracting even more players during its second weekend.
Most multiplayer titles peak in concurrent players during their launch weekend. However, ARC Raiders has done the opposite, with its player count increasing rather than falling off after release. The game originally reached over 300,000 concurrent players at launch and has now surpassed that milestone, hitting over 416,000 on Steam alone.
For comparison, Battlefield 6 launched with around 745,000 concurrent players on Steam but never managed to surpass its debut numbers. ARC Raiders achieving growth beyond its initial week places it among a small group of games able to sustain and increase their audience right after launch.
“ARC Raiders has achieved something very rare for any multiplayer game — beating its first week player count numbers.”
With additional players on PS5 and Xbox Series likely pushing the numbers even higher, ARC Raiders has quickly solidified itself as one of the standout multiplayer releases of the year.
ARC Raiders defies launch trends by dramatically increasing player numbers in its second week, cementing its position as a surprising multiplayer success.
