The French animation studio Fortiche, known for its work on Arcane, has released Twilight’s End, its latest cinematic collaboration with Riot Games. The premiere took place during the 2025 League of Legends World Championship in Chengdu, marking the conclusion of this year’s storytelling arc in the League universe.
Twilight’s End wraps up a four-part saga that began in January 2025 with Welcome to Noxus, followed by Dark Gambit and Beginning of the End. The storyline follows LeBlanc, Vladimir, and Xin Zhao as their intertwined fates lead to a climactic confrontation over the powerful artifact known as the Darkin Glaive.
The cinematic opens in the Spirit Temple, emerging into Ionia’s physical world during the ethereal “spirit blossom bloom.” A fierce struggle unfolds as Xin Zhao and the temple guardian Yunara battle to prevent Atakhan, an ally of LeBlanc, from claiming the glaive that contains the imprisoned Darkin Zaahen.
“Desperate to avert the apocalyptic vision he saw in Beginning of the End, Xin Zhao pleads with Zaahen to take over his body to protect Demacia from destruction.”
For this final chapter, Fortiche experimented with new visual concepts influenced by Ionia’s mysticism and spiritual energy, blending ethereal beauty with intense action. The result captures both emotional depth and dynamic storytelling, reinforcing the studio’s reputation for innovation in game cinematics.
A breathtaking finale, “Twilight’s End” merges haunting storytelling and stunning animation, closing Riot and Fortiche’s 2025 League of Legends narrative with cinematic brilliance.
