Paul Rodgers to Skip Bad Company's Rock Hall Induction

Shortly after Simon Kirke announced he would reunite with Paul Rodgers for a Bad Company performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Rodgers withdrew from the event due to health reasons.

Bad Company is scheduled to be inducted alongside Soundgarden, OutKast, The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, and others this Saturday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Fans will not get to see the two surviving original members perform together.

Statement from Paul Rodgers

“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me – guaranteed to rock.”

Rodgers confirmed there will still be a performance by Bad Company, featuring guest vocalists alongside Kirke and other musicians.

Health Background

Rodgers had previously disclosed suffering multiple strokes over the years, which nearly ended his singing career. Nevertheless, he clarified his absence from the ceremony is not related to his vocal abilities.

Author's summary: Paul Rodgers withdrew from Bad Company's Rock Hall induction performance to focus on his health, while Simon Kirke and guest singers will carry on the performance.
