Paul Rodgers has confirmed he will miss the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, dashing hopes for a Bad Company reunion at the event. The band is being honored as part of the Hall’s Class of 2025, marking their first nomination.
Alongside Bad Company, inductees include Seattle heavyweights Soundgarden, the White Stripes, and acclaimed session musician Carol Kaye. Oasis, despite nominations in previous years, will still be awaiting induction.
Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke were expected to appear together to honor late bandmates Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell. However, Rodgers’ ongoing health struggles have prevented his participation.
“My hope was to be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time, I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers wrote on Instagram. “I have no problem singing; it's the stress of everything else.”
Rodgers co-founded Bad Company after Free disbanded. He has experienced multiple strokes in recent years.
Due to these health challenges, the band retired in 2023, having last performed in 2019 as the opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd in Las Vegas.
Since 2008, former Heart member Howard Leese has been the band’s lead guitarist.
