Rock legend, 75, to skip Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction to ‘prioritize health’

Rock Legend, 75, to Skip Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Paul Rodgers, the lead singer of Bad Company, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to focus on his health.

Announcement on Social Media

On November 3, Rodgers shared on the band’s Instagram account:

My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.

He added,

I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding.

Plans for the Ceremony

Although Rodgers will be absent, his longtime bandmate Simon Kirke and other talented musicians will perform in his place. Rodgers and Kirke had planned to reunite as the only two surviving members of the band's original lineup.

Health Background

Rodgers did not provide specific details on his current condition but previously revealed in 2023 on CBS Mornings that he had suffered 13 strokes over several years. Eleven were minor, while two were severe, affecting his speech and daily function.

“I couldn’t do anything to be honest,” Rodgers shared about the aftermath of his major strokes.

Despite these challenges, Rodgers remains committed to his music career where possible.

Summary

Paul Rodgers prioritizes health over performance at the Hall of Fame induction, relying on bandmates to represent Bad Company in his absence while managing serious past health challenges.
