Peloton is recalling approximately 833,000 bikes following reports of potential safety hazards that could lead to falls and injuries. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday.
The recall concerns certain Peloton Original Series Bike+ models, specifically those with model number PL02 and serial numbers beginning with "T." These bikes were manufactured between December 2019 and July 2022 and sold in the United States.
Peloton stated the issue lies with the seat post assembly, which can break during use, creating a risk of falls and injuries for riders.
The Original Series Bike+ had a list price of around $2,495 and was sold from January 2020 through April 2025 in the U.S. It was available at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, Peloton’s official website, and major online retailers including Amazon and eBay.
Users are advised to stop using the recalled bikes “immediately” and contact Peloton for a free seat post replacement, which can be installed by the user.
Peloton has made this recall voluntary to ensure customer safety and prompt resolution of the issue.
