9News Melbourne is preparing to say goodbye to one of its most recognized personalities. Beloved weather presenter Livinia Nixon, 50, will deliver her final forecast on November 18 after more than two decades with the network.
Livinia joined the network in 1997 and became the face of Melbourne’s weather updates in 2004, building a loyal audience over the years.
"After 20 years presenting weather on 9News, I've decided to step back from this role," she said. "My sons will both be in high school, and I want to be there to support them. It's been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers' homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family."
Nixon explained that her choice was motivated by a desire to focus on her family as her children approach their senior school years.
"Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything, but this is the right decision for me," she continued. "When I discussed it with our boys, they said, 'We're pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.'"
Although Livinia is stepping away from her nightly weather duties, she will continue to be part of the Nine Network in other capacities.
After two decades on 9News Melbourne, Livinia Nixon ends her weather-presenting role to prioritize her family while remaining within the Nine Network.
