Ken Jennings, the host of the popular quiz show Jeopardy!, addressed a recent clue that caused backlash among viewers. The clue read: “A.I. generated the TikTok Image of this pig/human eventually killed by Tim Cheese.” All three contestants appeared confused, and Jennings himself admitted, “I didn’t understand any of that.” The correct response was “Who is John Pork?”
While the question’s difficulty was not the main issue, fans took issue with how the online meme was described. Comments on the official Jeopardy! Instagram account included:
“John Pork isn’t ai dont slander him!”
“JOHN PORK IS NOT AI.”
“Upset I immediately knew the answer even with the question phrased incorrectly, he was NOT AI!”
In response, Jennings posted a TikTok video on Saturday, November 8, explaining the misunderstanding. He said, “When we played a clue recently on ‘Jeopardy!’ about John Pork, I remarked that I didn’t understand a word of it. Well, I’ve had the chance to learn quite a bit since that clue aired about the late Mr. Pork, including the fact that some viewers took exception with our description of him as AI-generated.”
Jennings acknowledged that although AI tools are heavily used in many of John Pork’s TikToks, describing him as AI-generated might not have been the most accurate wording for his original appearances.
Author's summary: Ken Jennings apologized for a confusing and poorly worded 'Jeopardy!' clue about John Pork, clarifying the use of AI in the character’s TikTok content.
