The Golden State Warriors will once again take the court without their superstar Stephen Curry. The excitement surrounding every Warriors game often centers on Curry, known as the greatest shooter in NBA history. However, fans tuning in on Friday night for the national matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Amazon Prime Video will not see him play.
For the second consecutive game, Golden State must adjust to playing without its iconic leader. Unlike previous absences due to injury, Curry is currently sidelined by an illness. He missed Wednesday’s loss to the Sacramento Kings after trying to push through sickness in Tuesday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns.
The Warriors also had to compete Wednesday without Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler. According to the initial injury report for the Nuggets game, Green was listed as probable while Butler was questionable.
Friday night's matchup carries additional weight as an NBA Cup game, part of the league’s new in-season tournament, increasing the competition’s intensity for teams that value these fixtures.
"Curry remains out not with an injury but instead an illness."
Stephen Curry remains sidelined due to illness, forcing the Warriors to face the Nuggets without their star during Friday’s nationally televised NBA Cup matchup.
