MEXICO CITY (AP) — Jalen Duren achieved a career-best 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Cade Cunningham added 21 points along with 18 assists as the Detroit Pistons defeated the Dallas Mavericks 122–110 on Saturday night in Mexico City.
Duncan Robinson contributed 18 points, and Ausar Thompson scored 15, helping the Pistons secure their second straight win.
“I just wanted to get the win. Coach had a great game plan, my teammates found me, and the rest is history,” said Duren.
Cunningham set a personal record with 18 assists, emphasizing teamwork and execution.
“It’s super cool. The coaches put me in great position, and my teammates helped me. Doing it here was special,” said Cunningham. “The win is what matters most. We’re growing as a team and representing the Pistons the right way.”
D’Angelo Russell came off the bench to lead Dallas with 31 points, while top draft pick Cooper Flagg scored a season-high 16 points on 3-for-14 shooting. The Mavericks led 93–87 heading into the fourth quarter before being outscored 35–17 down the stretch. Dallas played without forward Anthony Davis, who is recovering from a left leg injury sustained Wednesday against Indiana.
