At 29 years old, Timothée Chalamet has received two Academy Award nominations and just earned his first Grammy nomination.
Chalamet was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for his role as Bob Dylan in last year's A Complete Unknown. He is listed alongside nominees like F1 The Album, KPop Demon Hunters, Sinners, and Wicked. Uniquely, he is the only nominee credited by name, while the others are listed under "various artists."
To portray Bob Dylan convincingly, Chalamet underwent five years of intense training to sing, play guitar and harmonica, and worked with dialect and movement coaches to capture an authentic performance.
This role also earned him his second Oscar nomination for Best Actor and nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Critics’ Choice, and SAG Awards, winning at the SAG ceremony.
“I can downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me. And I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is I’m really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats.”
