The global girl group KATSEYE, whose profile soared this year, received nominations in the prestigious categories of Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
The group expressed their gratitude:
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
KATSEYE faces strong contenders for the Best New Artist award, including Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, presented the category during the Grammy nominations announcement.
KATSEYE has experienced significant growth this past year, gaining early exposure through the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which followed their rise from hopefuls to international stars.
The group originated from the YouTube competition series Dream Academy, designed to form the first global girl group via a collaboration between K-pop powerhouse Hybe and Geffen Records.
KATSEYE’s Grammy nods mark a milestone for the group, reflecting rapid growth from competition hopefuls to celebrated global artists supported by a devoted fanbase.
