Sources - VALORANT: eKo Set to Join ZETA DIVISION in VCT Pacific

ZETA DIVISION is expected to strengthen its roster with Yeom "eKo" Wang-ryong, according to sources from Sheep Esports. After a quiet offseason, one of the two Japanese teams in VCT Pacific (alongside DetonatioN FocusMe) looks to improve following a disappointing year in results.

eKo’s Career and Recent Performance

eKo had a short VCT Pacific run in 2023 with Gen.G but now gets another opportunity after a successful year competing in VALORANT Challengers Japan with NOEZ FOXX. His initial experience in the top league was challenging, as he played in a six-man roster mainly as an Initiator. Often substituted during best-of-three matches, eKo struggled to showcase his full potential and was ultimately replaced during the Last Chance Qualifier for the Champions.

Return to VALORANT Challengers Japan

After leaving Gen.G, eKo returned to the Japanese scene, joining NOEZ FOXX and switching to a Duelist role. He particularly excelled with the agent Neon, becoming one of his most-used picks. His team secured third place in the regional finals and narrowly missed qualifying for the Ascension tournament.

"ZETA DIVISION is expected to strengthen soon with the arrival of Yeom 'eKo' Wang-ryong, sources tell Sheep Esports."
"He finishes third in the season finals of his region and narrowly fails to qualify for the Ascension with his team."

eKo’s journey reflects a second chance to prove himself in the competitive VALORANT scene after facing tough circumstances during his VCT debut.

Author's summary: eKo is set to join ZETA DIVISION, aiming to revitalize his career after challenges in VCT 2023 and successes in Japanese VALORANT Challengers play.
