The upcoming full Moon in early November 2025 will be the largest and most luminous of the year. Known as both a supermoon and the Beaver Moon, it will reach its peak between 4–6 November.
A supermoon occurs when the Moon is full while at its closest point to Earth in its orbital path. Because the Moon's orbit is not a perfect circle but slightly elliptical, its distance from Earth varies throughout the month.
The Moon is at perigee when it's nearest to Earth and at apogee when it's farthest away.
During perigee, the Moon can look up to 14% larger and shine about 30% more brightly than during apogee. This slight difference creates the visual spectacle often called a "supermoon."
This celestial event is the second in a trio of supermoons in 2025 and stands out as the brightest and largest of the year. Despite popular expectations, the Moon will not appear dramatically enormous, but its brilliance and presence in the night sky will still be striking.

The November 2025 supermoon will dominate the sky as the brightest and biggest full Moon of the year due to its proximity to Earth, offering a stunning but natural lunar display.
