The first trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic, titled "Michael" and directed by Antoine Fuqua, has been released by Lionsgate. The film stars Jaafar Jackson, the late singer’s nephew, portraying the legendary performer known as the King of Pop.
The teaser is set to premiere in theaters ahead of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.” It begins with Michael in a recording studio alongside Quincy Jones, played by Kendrick Sampson.
"I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this. The tracks are made, the songs are ready. Let’s take it from the top."
Viewers are shown glimpses of Jackson’s childhood, stage performances, and iconic music video moments while his 1982 hit “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” plays in the background.
The biopic finished filming in May 2024 but later underwent reshoots. Rumors suggested it could be split into two parts, although the new trailer indicates it will be a single film.
“Michael” is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026, after being rescheduled from its initial October release date.
The “Michael” biopic brings the King of Pop’s story to life through his nephew’s performance, blending his iconic music and legacy into a cinematic tribute set for 2026.
