Senegal’s national football team coach, Pape Thiaw, has announced a 27-player squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Kenya. Among the squad are two young talents, Ibrahim Mbaye and Mamadou Sarr, making their first appearances.
These games serve as preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ibrahim Mbaye, 17, a product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy and winner of the 2024 “Titi d’Or” award, will make his national team debut. Mamadou Sarr, aged 20, a defender for Strasbourg and son of former international Pape Sarr, is also included.
The young players join a squad led by veterans, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, and Sadio Mane. The squad also welcomes back Assane Diao from Como, Italy, and Rassoul Ndiaye from Le Havre, France.
"The training camp is the final test for the Lions before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and the 2026 World Cup."
