UK startup Hoxton Farms has submitted a regulatory approval application for its cultivated pork fat to the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), marking an important step ahead of new funding and factory plans. This move comes amid multiple regulatory achievements in the cultivated meat industry.
The London-based food tech company plans several regulatory submissions worldwide. Singapore, which has already granted approvals to three cultivated meat startups, is expected to give a decision on Hoxton Farms's application between late 2026 and early 2027.
The application was managed by Chief Scientific Officer Vitor Espírito Santo, who was integral in securing the first-ever regulatory approval for cultivated meat when working with Eat Just’s Good Meat division in 2020, also through the SFA.
“The SFA remains a world leader in regulation for cultivated products. While the team has evolved, their commitment to safety, transparency and collaboration hasn’t changed,” said Hoxton Farms’ co-founder and CEO Max Jamilly.
“We also benefit from clearer guidance and more precedent today, which makes the process more predictable and improves our chances of success.”
Hoxton Farms advances its global cultivated meat ambitions by pursuing Singaporean regulatory approval, leveraging experienced leadership and clear regulatory guidance for a promising future.
