BOSTON — Just ten days after suffering a heavy 7-2 defeat to the Ottawa Senators, the Boston Bruins returned to TD Garden on Thursday determined to change their fortunes. This time, the Bruins displayed a much stronger performance, edging out the Senators 3-2 in overtime to claim their fifth straight win.
Forward Pavel Zacha emphasized the motivation behind the victory:
“It was big motivation for us. We lost a game there and lost pretty badly. Before the game, we were motivated to give it back, and I’m happy that we won.”
Zacha scored the decisive goal with just 5.6 seconds remaining in overtime. The winning play followed a persistent offensive effort by Charlie McAvoy, who maneuvered around the attacking zone before taking a shot that Zacha redirected into the net. This marked Zacha’s fourth goal of the season.
Boston had led 2-1 with less than ten minutes left in the third period, ultimately holding on to extend their winning streak.
