Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to face trial in Miami on charges of attempted murder. The case originates from a shooting incident outside an amateur boxing event earlier this year.
Brown, who spent most of his 12-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is accused of firing two shots at a man following a confrontation at the event held in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood on May 16.
"Brown appeared to grab a black firearm from the right hip area of a security official and fired at a man," identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu.
Since the incident, Brown had avoided returning to Florida.
Authorities confirmed that the 37-year-old was extradited from Dubai, where he was reportedly trying to avoid U.S. law enforcement. He arrived via Newark, New Jersey, and was booked into Essex County Jail.
The timeline for his transfer to South Florida remains uncertain.
Video footage from the May event, shared on social media, showed Brown involved in a physical altercation. The event was hosted by internet personality and streamer Adin Ross.
