While visiting Toronto on November 6 to meet with veterans ahead of Remembrance Day, Harry commented on the lighthearted controversy he called “Hat-Gate.” During his interview with CTV News, he explained his decision with a laugh.
“I was under duress,” Harry said. “I was invited to the Dodgers dugout by the owner. I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do.”
He kept the tone playful as he added another quip when trying on a Blue Jays cap.
“When you’re missing a lot of hair on top, and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available.”
Harry continued that he later supported Canada’s team as the series went on.
“Game 5, Game 6, Game 7, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I’ve admitted that, it’s going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles.”
Connection to Toronto
Although Harry and Meghan now reside in Montecito, they hold a personal connection to Toronto. Meghan lived there for more than six years while filming the television series Suits, and the couple previously hosted the Invictus Games in the city in 2017.
