Walker, Blake Each Scores Twice as Hurricanes Edge Wild

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-3 at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, N.C., with Jackson Blake and Sean Walker each recording a goal and an assist. Nikolaj Ehlers and Andrei Svechnikov also scored for Carolina, while Frederik Andersen made 21 saves.

“Blake is probably the one who needs the most credit for tonight,” said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour. “The one goal was all him, and the other was just a great pass.”

For Minnesota, Matt Boldy scored two goals in his 300th NHL game. Filip Gustavsson kept the Wild competitive with 23 saves.

“They’re a high-pressure team. There were times I thought we handled it well, and there were times when there was another good team on the ice, too,” commented Wild coach John Hynes. “We got some looks in different segments of the game.”
