Edinburgh Trams to Commemorate Remembrance Day
Edinburgh Trams will honor Remembrance Sunday (9 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, and recent conflicts.
Free Travel for Veterans and Armed Forces
To recognize the sacrifices of military personnel, Edinburgh Trams will offer free tram travel for veterans and active members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force on both days. Eligible passengers can access this by showing military ID or wearing their uniform.
Remembrance Activities
- Members of Poppy Scotland will be present at the Haymarket tram stop selling poppies prior to the commemorations.
- Poppies will also be displayed in tram windows as a symbol of remembrance.
- Where safety permits, tram services will pause at 11 a.m. to observe a two-minute silence on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
