Remembrance Day Garbage Collection Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment announces that garbage collection will not occur on Tuesday, November 11, due to the Remembrance Day holiday.

“The Ministry of Public Works and Environment is advising that household waste will not be collected on the Remembrance Day holiday, Tuesday, November 11.”

Instead, waste scheduled for Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday, starting a “roll-over” schedule. This means Friday's waste collection will shift to Saturday.

Recycling collection will continue as planned: west end on Thursday and east end on Friday.

Residents can also bring household waste and recycling to the Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off, open on Tuesday, November 11, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Afterward, it will return to regular hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.

Summary: Garbage collection shifts due to Remembrance Day, with a roll-over schedule starting Wednesday; recycling services remain unchanged and the Tynes Bay facility is open Tuesday morning.
