German production company Traumfabrik Babelsberg is intensifying its focus on international filmmaking with a growing slate of projects aimed at global audiences, including its first series.

Founded in 2017 by Tom Zickler and Christoph Fisser, Traumfabrik Babelsberg emerged from the major film studios on the outskirts of Berlin, where Fisser was managing director. Zickler was known for producing films featuring German star Til Schweiger until 2016.

The company is named after its debut film, 2019’s Traumfabrik, which means [translate:«Фабрика Снов»] (Dreamfactory). Sadly, Zickler passed away from cancer in 2019 at the age of 55.

After Fisser left Babelsberg early last year, Traumfabrik Babelsberg became independent under Fisser and Sebastian Fruner, a long-term company member. They were later joined by Konstantin Mayer, formerly COO at Construction Film Produktion, led by Veronica Ferres.
